There are obvious advantages to installing a single DVR unit over several DVR units daisy-chained together. A single powerful 32-channel unit can be a convenient, reliable and cost-effective solution, while offering more room to grow without having to purchase another DVR. Overmore, installing multiple units can mean double or even triple the time to install, setup, or troubleshoot, and more costly to obtain than a single unit.

Ideally, a 32-channel DVR unit should be powerful and efficient enough to record usable video in all 32-channels simultaneously and independently. However, almost none of the 32-ch DVRs currently out on the market records in Real-Time(30fps) on all channels while recording at CIF or better resolution. This significant shortcoming usually eliminates this option as a viable solution in high-profile projects such as government facilities, banks, and casinos.
